ZUBA

Zuba! Zuba!! Zuba!!! Oga you no dey go?

A man alighted a cab at the junction where I stood waiting for a cab and as I looked into the car, I saw the three unfriendly faces – they reminded me of the kind of faces we saw way back when we begged to be dropped at Dutse junction after we had scaled fences to return home without due permission from the school authority – this is a familiar story of students of GSS Kuduru, as it is called.

I was already late for work that day, and to make those faces the reason not to board the cab, I didn’t consider. I greeted them with a pretentious smile and as expected, they whispered something that sounded more of a treat than a greeting – affirming my dread for their faces. No one spoke a word while we journeyed. Not too long, another passenger, a broad shouldered man, with beard that almost made him look like one of those people, he wore a cap that half-covered his head, ‘attire’ that revealed no skin and shoes that announced his belief in every piece that was revealed.

#StalkList: Today on StalkList is Ravi Zacharias

I heard about Ravi from a friend who was so passionate about listening to his every preaching and I decided to hear the Author. I tried downloading his podcast online and luckily stumbled on Just Thinking and the experience was unending. Ever since then, each time I enter a place and hear his voice, I am always correct with my guesses of him being the one speaking. His voice is so unique, you wouldn't miss it. It registers once you hear it.

Frederick Antony Ravi Kumar Zacharias (born 26 March 1946) is an Indian-born Canadian-American Christian apologist. A defender of traditional evangelicalism. Zacharias is the author of numerous Christian books, including the Gold Medallion Book Award winner Can Man Live Without God? in the category "theology and doctrine" and bestsellers Light in the Shadow of Jihad and The Grand Weaver. He is the founder and chairman of the board of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, host of the radio programs Let My People Think and Just Thinking, and presently honorary senior research scholar at Wycliffe Hall Oxford. Zacharias held the chair in Evangelism and Contemporary Thought at Alliance Theological Seminary from 1981 to 1984. Evangelical Christian leader Chuck Colson referred to Zacharias as "the great apologist of our time." Zacharias is considered to be a leading figure of the evangelical intelligentsia movement. (Wiki)
