Some say social media is a necessary evil. Yes, this is
true. People are making millions simply by creating contents over the internet
while others are slowly deteriorating in the level of their intellectual
capacity simply because they spend more time on social media than they do on their
actual life. People are not present in their bodies anymore as they used to.
Social interaction is hampered by the day. Talking about this is like another
stroke to a dead meat. It has been over flogged day in and out. People have
become less capable of creative thought in face to face conversations.
I
recently got in a conversation with a stranger simply to see how this has
affected me too. I am a lover of social media and I do best in conversations on
social media than in real life. You too should take a break off social media and interact with those around you. See what you will learn by doing so.
Social media is not bad. What is really eating into the stem
of our society is the wrong use of things. Even drugs are abused when used
wrongly (without prescription by a doctor). Even humans are being abused when
they neglect the right means to relate. But someone would say, “everyone is
meant to live their life the way they please. Yes I agree. Everyone should live
their life the best they can. If the life is being lived the way they should, Then there would be no need to talk about this.
Let’s try to engage in real life conversations. I see
friends thrive well on social media when talking to a potential friend, but
once they come face to face with them, they start to stutter. This is fine. But
keep at it until it is no longer an issue for you. Stop looking for yourself in the complements of strangers on
social media. It is frustrating to do so. What life is there?
Many NGOs are trying to engage physical humans every day. So
there are a lot of ‘hangout’ events being organized across the nation. You don’t
necessarily need to go for such events to talk to someone. Some are out of
touch in their immediate environment. The grasses have grown into a forest
simply because we have given our lives as burnt offerings to our digital devices.
Even the people around us have lost touch with us. They no longer know us the
way they used to or the way they should.
This blog is about engaging your thoughts about a whole lot
of things. Social interactions is thriving across the globe and you are the
only one who isn’t contributing to the change. Do something. Engage that neighbor,
friend, colleague, or whoever, in a conversation. You don’t know where you will
meet that person that will alter your life positively. You may save someone by
talking to them. Enjoy a conversation outside the virtual word today.
