MEET THE WINNER - FLASH5: RESOLUTION. EPILOGUE.

*Lights come on to Puff Daddy( Sean Combs) singing 'Victory.' Soogun's entrance music hits and he makes his way up the ramp. The announcer is in the ring, waiting with the judges, Eketi Ette, Deoye Falade and Mystique Synn Osuchukwu. The Most Annoying Man on Facebook, 2014, 2015 winner, Pa Ikhide is holding the Storytellers, a case with two gold pens flanking a timepiece.
Soogun steps out to a huge pop. He walks towards the ring, hands raised in the Black Power sign.
A choir in blue and white start singing ' Even If It Breaks Your Heart'
" Oooooooohhhh Oooooooohhhh,
I can hear 'em playing
Oooooooohhhh Oooooooohhhh
I can hear the ringing of a beat up guitar
Oooooooohhhh Oooooooohhhh

I can hear 'em singing
Keep on dreaming, even if it breaks your heart.
Just keep on dreaming, even if it breaks your heart.'
*Hymar walks through the entrance to a mixed pop. He stands still, staring around and around, then he fixes his gaze on the ring before walking towards the others. His T-shirt says 'NEVER BACK DOWN.' *
Announcer's voice: Whew! So it is over. It is done. It is finishes(Jesus.200AD). It has been one helluva ride on the literary train of Flash5. Thanks to everyone who made it possible. Who made it big. Who made it the bomb!
So, before I announce the results and the winner, I want to make something clear, especially to the voting and judging audience.
Writing stories is HARD. I know some people make it look to easy but IT IS HARD WORK. It takes something from you that you have to replenish consistently. It tasks your mind and your body.
That said...
Writing stories consistently for 5 days IS A BITCH! Soogun and Hymar must have watched with dismay and growing anger as people unzipped their flies, and did pissing contests of their own on top the stories that were written to beat deadlines, with word limit and theme constraints too!!! Only Geniuses do that. To spin not just stories but blistering stories in such boxed situation requires something much more than talent. It takes Heart. Guts. Commitment. People were saying 'rushed stories' upandan(Funke Philips.2015). Hey, that was supposed to be obvious.
Like Hymar said, 'If Flash5 taught me anything, it is there is nothing like writer's block. The stories are there, the ability to tell them is there, you just need to unlaze yourself. You just need to pretend you have 60k to lose and write.'
*Announcer hands mic to Pa Ikhide.*
Pa Ikhide: I am so proud of what Hymar David and others are doing with flash fiction. They have moved beyond mere experiments; there is now a culture of innovation and story telling that represents the sum total of our lives in a robust and joyous way. I salute their industry.
*applause*
Announcer: Now to the results: *pauses and smiles* chai, this suspense sweet me o *crowd yells at him* Okay, okay, yesterday, Soogun wrote......*laughing* Hymar wrote.....
Oh, fuck the results, let me just say

The winner of Flash5 is Hymar David for ' HUSSAINA'S SPRINT!'
*Hymar points a finger to the sky and the arena explodes!*
Announcer: Hymar David wrote 'Hussaina's Sprint' and scored 203 audience votes and 3 judge votes to break his own record for the biggest margin win in a Flash contest with 90 points. Soogun Omoniyi did 'Closure' and earned 68 audience votes and 20 points. All Hail The Takedown Mob boss! 3-2.
*Soogun smiles as he shakes Hymar's hand. Hymar bends and whispers something, Soogun laughs. Pa Ikhide hands Hymar the Storytellers. The judges keep clapping and smiling. Kyane David is in the background, singing "God Bless The Wild."
They exit the ring, except Hymar. He's staring at the Storytellers and shaking his head like 'Ahdunbelivit' He places it on the floor, points to the crowd and yells 'NEVER BACK DOWN!'
Then he picks it up and makes his way towards the exit.
The Beginning.
